Athletic Training

Athletic Trainers at Biomax Rehabilitation serve a dual role in treating patients. They work with patients in the clinic as well as serving the needs of local athletic teams by covering sporting events. Athletic trainers act as allied health professionals in the clinic by serving the wide patient population at Biomax Rehabilitation.

In the clinic, trainers work with the physical therapists to assist patients in their recovery process. Trainers treat a variety of orthopedic problems including but not limited to:

  • Knee pain
  • Ankle problems
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Exercise or sport related injuries
  • Knee Bracing
    • Custom
    • Off the Shelf

At their off site settings, they serve the needs of the athlete and athletic teams. They work one on one at local high schools to promote prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of common athletic injuries. If an injury should be severe enough to need further consultation they can refer the athlete to a physician.

Athletic trainers are specifically trained to deal with athletic injuries as first responders. Often they are the first person an athlete sees following an injury. These injuries can range from a sprained ankle to a neck injury that requires the utmost skill and care.

Biomax is an independent facility that does accept all outside referrals. If your physician suggests that you would benefit from Athletic Training, simply contact our office at (217) 342-3400 to schedule a therapy appointment.

We also offer our Sports Clinic if you have a sports related injury.
